Mnemiopsis leidyi perhaps
Description and Comments
I spotted a fascinating comb jelly about 350m offshore at Balmoral this morning. It had a pinkish hue and three lobes - the middle one being the longest. Hold up your hand (facing away) and look at your middle finger and the fingers on each side and that will give you an idea of its shape. The two smaller lobes had a brown stripe down each. For propulsion, it would push the outer lobes together and off it would zip. It was flatter in appearance than being elliptical.
