Comb Jellies (ctenophore) at Balmoral
Description and Comments
Saw dozens (maybe hundreds) of comb jellies today about 350 metres offshore at Balmoral. They were about 1-2cm wide. I found a photo that maybe similar to the ones I saw from this blog: http://bodegahead.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/at-waters-edge.html

Yes, the photo is Mnemiopsis
Yes, the photo is Mnemiopsis (with an alciopid worm parasite, it appears), but it would be interesting to see what your actual ctenophore is. I suspect it is Bolinopsis instead, as Mnemiopsis would be an invader, so would rather not include this photo from the Atlantic...
Thanks. I wish I could carry

Thanks. I wish I could carry a camera with me! The person who took the photo will be posting her sightings so the jellywatch database will be receiving some great material soon. :-)
