sighting of several Rhizostoma pulmo and mauve stingers

Description and Comments

ok, today i went snorkling again. the weather today was finally more calm. we had had several high temperature days, high 30s C (high 90S) with afternoon winds. thus the past couple afternoons it has been extremely hot with turbulent waters. today is was only about 33C and with little wind. the water was munch warmer than last week and very calm. i saw one mauve stinger, but it was tumbling on the bottom, injured, and looked like it had been partially eaten. further out i saw 5 Rhizostoma pulmo. medium (20cm across)to decent sized (30cm across). though i could be a bit off on my sizing since being underwater tends to embiggen things... ;) one did have a hole in its bell, and all had a companion fish tagging along. i did see one small octopus, dubbed pierre.
