Chrysaora plocamia

Huge bloom of Chrysaora plocamia on March 27th 2012 in "islas Palomino" just outside Callao harbour (Peru), this C.plocamia bloom was sighted during this current summer - autum 2012, and is among the biggest. These abundances were not registered since 1987, 24 years ago!! this huge abundances could be related with climate changes in inter annual and inter decadal pulses, also local oceanographic conditions (insolation, local currents, different water masses intrusions) could also trigger this blooms.
