Red tide, Squid, and Sharks
Description and Comments
I am the naturalist for San Diego Whale Watch out of Mission Bay. Every day for the past week and a half we've had a very thick red tide (Lingulodinium) with awesome bioluminescence at night. Plus we've seen Loligo and Humboldt squid in the thousands, blue, fin, minke, and humpback whales surface-feeding, and a couple of hammerhead sharks.
