Vallella vallella?

A few days ago (March 21) I went for a swim as I usually do in Malibu, near Nobu restaurant, just north of the Malibu Pier. I kept feeling a stinging sensation for about 20 minutes and when I got out of the water I realized I had been stung. I didn’t see anything but did feel the effects with a rash and a welt. Could this be the Vellella Bellella larvae stage? Maeaning, the larger blue sail jellies will show up on the shores soon?
