Canal in Bayshore

I just spotted today April 13 what looked like a jelly fish,in the canal in our backyard in Bay Shore, NY. This waterway is near the Great South Bay. It looked all white there was alot of movement,which is why our dauchhound was barking at it. We usually do not see them until August.
