Hundreds of lion's mane jellyfish seen from a ferry

Description and Comments

From the top deck of a small ferry, I could see hundreds of lion's mane jellyfish in the water in northwest Iceland. Only the ones which were a few meters below sea level were visible. Size varied from 10 cm to 1 meter. Density was on average two individual per three cubic meters.

Also, a single cross jellyfish (Staurophora mertensii) was spotted in the port of an island in the middle of the journey.
