Late spring bloom in Monterey

High density of diatoms and algae in water. Dark brown to dark green. Bolinopsis and Thalassocalyce spotted near surface. Plankton tow revealed another Thalasso in addition to numerous larval crabs and krill, Oikopleura, small Eutonina, small Pleurobrachia, Larval Beroe , ~3mm length. Copepod density was light. Few salps and siphonophores at surface, mostly fragments.
