Doliolids in Bodega Bay, CA

Millions(?) of doliolids, perhaps Dolioletta gegenbauri, washing up on Salmon Creek Beach in Bodega Bay, California. There were so many it gave the tide line a purplish hue! The photo shows what they looked like when washed up on the sand. Addendum: I changed the picture to show one individual under the microscope.
