Aegina citrea in Bodega Bay, California
Description and Comments
At least 50 (or more) Aegina citrea washed ashore on Salmon Creek Beach in Bodega Bay, California on 26 April 2015. Most were ~3 cm across, some were smaller, ~2 cm across. The picture is an individual in a small aquarium. Although "beat up" after coming through the surf zone, important characteristics are still visible. They appeared after a couple of days of strong northwest winds (upwelling conditions).
