Salps at Sandy Hook, NJ 7-2014

Description and Comments

I'd never seen them before, but learned from a fellow beach-go'er that they were salps. There were thousands of them, mostly in the water but some had washed up on the beach also. They're neat looking, very clear so they don't seem dirty, but still gross to feel as you wave your limbs in the water.
