Man o' War in Alabama

I was in Gulf Shores, Alabama for a short Christmas break. Walked along the beach and saw more man o'war than I could easily count. They ranged in size from about an inch long to nearly a foot. I didn't know what they were so after I got home I looked up various kinds of jellyfish and only the man o'war was the only one that matched what I saw.

They were small, bright blue air-filled sacks with an almost neon pink crest on the top. They looked like they were washed up by the tide, so I was careful to walk above the waterline.
