jellies on Clam Beach

Description and Comments

numerous (10-ish I observed) blobs of clear jelly among the Velella washing up on the in-coming tide. Suspect they are Awquorea, based on one individual that showed signs of being a complete umbrella (see photo). But most of the blobs were just that: blobs, with no distinguishing characteristics I could observe. Individual depicted is approx. 8cm dia. Other blobs were smaller, and not so obviously circular.
