100s of jellyfish in San Juan islands

Description and Comments

On a ferry ride from Anacortes to Orcas Island, a round-trip of about 30 miles, we passed about 100 jellyfish in the water scattered along the entire route, but mostly in the inter-island area from Blakely Island to Orcas. About 90% appeared to be moon jellies (Aurelia aurita), with the rest lion's mane (Cyanea capillata).
