Plate-size jellyfish for several weeks

since at least Aug. 8, during runs every other day, each time I've seen several plate-sized jellyfish, maybe 2" thick and disk-like with lightly fluted edges washed up in the surf zone. I've gone in the water a few times and bumped/swum into 2, neither of which stung. This is off Coal-Oil Point in Goleta. A news item on Aug. 9 reported sightings several miles south of here, too:
