Many jellyfish in Scotland

Description and Comments

It was quite remarkable, many many (easily hundreds) jellyfish washing up when we were travelling in Scotland, near Kyle Lochalsch in the Highlands. They were about 4-6 inches across and greyish with a tinge of pink. The water nearest the shore was full of them, particularly in the harbor. Many had beached on the shore and dried, as well. This was in the summer (perhaps June or July) of 2004. Quite memorable. Somewhat disturbing.
